TIPS FOR REDUCING WEDDING STRESS
Don't underestimate how long it is going to take to plan your wedding. Organisation is the key. Print out our wedding checklist and tick things off as you go. Don't let things get out of hand. There is a definite order in which to do things as some things take priority. Our guide can be used to make sure everything is on track.Remember not everything will go to plan, don’t forget to keep in mind the bigger picture. At the end of the day the most important thing is that you are marrying someone you love. As a bonus all the little things that go wrong tend to make good stories. Keep your sense of humour and stay flexible.
Make sure you choose the right attendants. They will make an enormous difference on your wedding day. Choose people who will stay calm and be helpful if there are any crises. The main duties of bridesmaids and groomsmen are to be attentive to the needs of the bride and groom. Make sure you choose someone you can count on, but also somebody who you can have fun with and who will make your day more meaningful.
Remember to de-stress. Take some time out from it all. Exercise is a great way to release some of that stress, check out our exercise program. And before the big day organise some pampering at a day spa, or if nothing else have a bath and try to relax.

TIPS FOR GREAT SPEECHES
PreparationStart your speech early, leaving enough time to dedicate to it, so it is not rushed and you are able to express all your ideas and feelings. Make a list of people to thank. Think about what you would like to say about the person you are toasting.
Remember you do not have to be funny. It is better to give a heartfelt speech if you are unsure of how your attempt at humour will go down.
Keep it short. It is better to keep your speech short, concise and to the point. Always read from a prepared speech or otherwise have palm cards with all your major points listed. A speech around 3 to 5 minutes is fine, make sure it is no longer than 10 minutes.
Practice
I recommend reading your speech a loud in front of someone, practice looking up from your speech and engaging your audience. When you rehearse your speech it is a good idea to say it out loud rather than rehearsing it in your head. Practice in a slow clear voice. This will help give you confidence when it comes to the real thing.
Although many people find public speaking a nerve racking experience. The best piece of advice I can give you is to not drink too much before you give your speech.
Tips for writing your speech
- Start your speech with a quote, it can be a good icebreaker and will get the crowd on your side.
- Describe your relationship to the bride and groom, as many of the guests may be unaware of this.
- Thank any relevant parties.
- Thank the hosts.
- Finish up with a message of congratulations and best wishes for the future.
